For Teens

We have many fun opportunities for our Teen and Tweens to learn, grow, or just hang out at the Fonda Public Library!  Our Wii games, board games, Makerspace items, Lego Crazy Contraption Kits, Lego Chain Reaction Kits, Puzzles and VR Headsets are a big hit with our Teens & Tweens!

Our Summer Reading Program is unmatched, providing opportunities for our youth to participate in fun and learning, and to prevent that dreaded "Summer Slide"! There are so many ways to participate:
*Tween/Teen Advocacy Group - Our Teens help plan our summer programs!  Led by Rachel Wadle, they meet to plan what dates and times work best for them, building their program around Summer School and Softball/Baseball games.they also provide input on what books they would like to see added to our collection.

*Tween/Teen Book Club  - Each year they choose a book they'd like to read, everyone gets a copy, and they discuss it at the end of the month!  This fun activity usually involves pizza!!

*Reading Incentive Program - We're changing our program this year, so that you won't have to keep track of reading minutes!  Check back in, to see how this new program evolves!

*Weekly Challenges - Throughout the summer we have fun challenges that you may complete as an individual, with friends, or as a family. Check in to see what they are for the week - you have all week to complete them!

*Big Prize Drawing - At the end of the summer we have a Big Prize Drawing to celebrate! Every time you participate in a library program or activity, you get an entry in our big prize drawing!

We are always looking for fun ways to get together at the Library, so if you have any ideas, please contact one of our helpful staff members!
